When you’re looking for high-impact swag, budget-friendly event giveaways, brand promotions or field-marketing kits, the right sticker format can make all the difference. At NorthPoint, we carry a full spectrum of custom-sticker options, from affordable workhorses to premium show-pieces. Below is a breakdown of each format, what makes it unique, and when we recommend to use it!

1) Classic Die-Cut Stickers

ree

What they are: These are full-color vinyl stickers cut to the exact custom shape of your artwork (logo, icon, mascot, etc.). Think of them as the “standard” premium sticker option. The substrate is weatherproof, durable and designed for long-term use.

Why they stand out: They offer maximum flexibility in shape and size, strong durability (outdoor use, water bottles, laptops, even helmets) and premium print quality.

Best for: Brand-forward giveaways at tradeshows, field marketer kits (drop-ins for on-site use), retail packaging, premium gift kits where you want to project quality and longevity.

2) Economic Die-Cut Stickers

ree

What they are: The lower-cost version of die-cut stickers. Full-color and custom shape like the Classic, but built with more cost-effective materials and printing methods.

What’s different:

  • No protective laminate, so not built for extended outdoor or harsh conditions.

  • Matte finish, indoor or short-term use is ideal.

Best for: High-volume hand-outs at events (think floor drops, swag bags), lightweight packaging stickers, giveaways where cost matters more than ultra longevity, secondary surfaces where premium finish isn’t required.

3) Sticker Sheets

ree

What they are: Premium quality sheets made up of multiple custom-shaped stickers on one peelable page — could be multiple versions of one design or several small designs per sheet.

Why they’re useful: They allow you to pack in a variety of designs in one item, or to offer multiple smaller stickers rather than one large one (great for engagement, collectability, event giveaways, and showing off creative on-theme designs!)

Best for: Tradeshow kits (give people options), event swag packs, new hire kits (to decorate their work laptop or water bottle!), and retail “bundle” giveaways. Also good when you want something fun, interactive and more visually appealing.

4) Holographic Stickers

ree

What they are: Custom stickers printed on special holographic vinyl that shifts in light and perspective, giving a rainbow/sheen effect.

Usage notes:

  • Good full-color print allowed (no restrictions on color count).

  • Strong visual impact — great for grabbing attention.

  • Outdoor durability is limited (rated up to ~6 months depending on conditions)

Best for: Premium giveaways, limited-edition promotional drops (“special event” stickers), branded merchandise where that extra “shine” adds perceived value.

5) Glitter Stickers

ree

What they are: Vinyl stickers printed on a glitter-effect material that sparkles with a rainbow-iridescent texture as light hits it.

What’s to know:

  • As sturdy as original vinyl stickers but with added visual texture.

  • You can specify which parts of your artwork get the glitter effect (versus white-backed sections).

  • Ideal for indoor or semi-protected use (durability estimates vary).

Best for: Eye-catching brand promos, giveaways with an upscale flair, retail apps (packaging, window displays), event giveaways where “shimmer” helps draw attention.

6) Clear Stickers

ree

What they are: Transparent vinyl stickers printed with white ink behind the design so your artwork shows clearly without a white box background.

Key features:

  • Can be die cut in any shape.

  • Durable, weatherproof vinyl; Suitable for windows, bottles, product labels, etc.

Best for: Product labels (when you want the underlying surface to show through), clear window / glass surfaces, event-swag where you want the sticker to “float” over a surface (e.g., clear laptop shell, water bottle), minimalist brand aesthetic.

7) Fabric Stickers

ree

What they are: Stickers printed on a soft twill/fabric material (similar texture to a woven patch) but with adhesive backing rather than being iron-on.

Notable attributes:

  • Ribbed texture, soft feel — premium look/feel.

  • Designed for smooth, hard surfaces (e.g., laptops, phone cases, backpacks) rather than other fabrics.

Best for: “Premium” attendee giveaways where you want something tactile and memorable, additional layering in a welcome kit (e.g., pair a fabric sticker + mini tote).

Choosing the Right Sticker for Your Campaign

Here’s a simple decision-tree you can use (and share) to pick the right sticker format for your next campaign:

  • Is budget the top driver? → Consider Economic Die-Cut.

  • Is longevity/outdoor durability key? → Go Classic Die-Cut (or Clear if transparency is desired).

  • Do you want a high visual “wow” effect? → Choose Holographic or Glitter formats.

  • Will the sticker go on packaging / product where you want the underlying surface visible? → Use Clear Stickers.

  • Is this a high-touch, premium giveaway item? → Fabric Stickers add tactile premium feel.

  • Do you want multiple designs per unit / collectability / variety? → Sticker Sheets are smart.

And of course, think about your audience: event attendees, new hires or employees, clients or partners — each may value different formats, so take this into consideration as well!
